The safe securing of loads
The transfer of loads involves certain risks. If a load is not properly secured, it can fall out of a crane or hoist when being transferred. If you are lucky, the damage may be negligible, but the idea of a load hitting a person doesn’t bear thinking about.
Such incidents must of course be prevented, so it is important to know everything that is necessary to secure a load properly. Many of the risks that relate to securing loads can be prevented by pursuing an effective purchasing policy for lifting and hoisting equipment. This will help bring about safe, responsible and efficient working methods.
The role of the Working Conditions Act (Arbowet)
The Working Conditions Act has an important role to play in the safe securing of loads. This law describes in detail what is expected of both the employer and the employee. When it comes to safe working, collective responsibility is said to exist.
